In order to become licensed for the first time, teen drivers under the age of 18 must complete a commercial driving course consisting of 24 hours of classroom time (either traditional classroom or online) and 8 hours of in-car training time with a licensed driving instructor.  An additional 50 hours of in-car training must be done with parents or guardian.

Our Driver Rehabilitation Specialist can assist with determining the best course of training for your specific situation.

How do I get started?

Since each situation is unique, give us a call at 614-777-1762 and we will arrange a consultation with the student and parent to determine the best plan of action.

How much will it cost?

The online classroom course is $50.  The in-car training is done on an hourly basis according to the type of training and any adaptive equipment required. (2 hour training sessions with a driver rehabilitation specialist and a specially equipped vehicle are $175)

Having a disability doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be able to learn to drive or continue driving.  Many disabilities can be overcome with specialized training or by utilizing adaptive equipment for the vehicle. A driver rehabilitation specialist can help disabled drivers with the training and adaptive equipment needed to begin or continue driving.
