Abbreviated Adult Driving Course

The abbreviated Adult Driving Course is a State of Ohio requirement for any driver 18 years of age or older who has not previously held a driver's license and who did not pass the Ohio driver's test (either the maneuverability or driving portion) on the first attempt. A completion certificate showing successful completion of the course (both classroom and driving) must be presented to the testing station before a second attempt at the Ohio driving test.

The Abbreviated Adult Driving course consists of 4 hours of classroom training which we offer as an online course, and either 4 hours of in-car training time with a licensed driving instructor or 24 hours of in-car training with a licensed driver. (Completion certificates for the online course are sent by U.S. mail and require about 10 days for delivery) You must have the online completion certificate before scheduling driving sessions with the instructors.

The four hour in-car portion of the course is completed in (2) two hour driving sessions. The driving sessions are held 7 days a week and may be started once the classroom portion of the course is completed.Driving sessions beginning at noon on weekdays are generally available within 1 week. Evening and weekend sessions are generally scheduled farther ahead. Please call the driving school to check availability for driving sessions.

Cost for the 4 hour driving only portion of the course is $199 in Hilliard, $239 in Powell. (The online course must be finished and the student must have the completion certificate before registering for the 4 hour driving portion of the course)
